As a small whanau-orientated business, the health, safety and wellbeing of our people are extremely important to us. We are committed to keeping people safe, healthy, motivated and engaged at work. We truly believe that a safe and healthy workplace has a positive impact on the personal wellbeing of our people, their safety and their productivity.
We strongly believe that every project can be delivered with zero harm. Asbestos Management & Removal Team LTD has developed a strong Health and Safety management system that has been certified in accordance with ISO 45001:2018. Our system is robust and has been audited by independent JAS approved auditors BSI.
Our focus is committed to:
- Provide a safe workplace, safe equipment, and appropriate PPE and insist on safe work practices at all times, for both employees and subcontractors.
- Provide appropriate training and supervision, as well as monitoring of conformance to expected safety standards.
- Monitor our employee’s health through pre-employment and annual medical checks, as well as random drug and alcohol testing. Where staff are absent from work, we will help them return as quickly as possible and in a safe manner and able to remain in work by managing any individual health issues.
- Complying with all applicable regulatory requirements as a minimum (Health & Safety Regulations and Asbestos Regulations) and other applicable documents such as standards, codes of practice and industry best practice.
- Have systems in place to identify, evaluate and mitigate hazards and risks associated with our work for example specific onsite documents of ARCP & SSSP for every work site to ensure our people, visitors and contractors follow this at all times.
- Ensure all incidents and accidents are promptly and accurately reported and investigated to identify root causes and steps initiated to close any gaps.

The Safety and wellbeing of our people is and always will be, our number one priority, it can never be taken for granted. Everyone, regardless of job role, has an important part to play and we all have a responsibility to ensure the safety and welfare of our colleagues, site workers, contractors and the communities in which we work. By working together, looking out for one another and having the confidence to challenge behaviours, speaking out when we feel something doesn’t look or feel safe, we will achieve zero harm on all our sites. It remains our first, and most enduring, priority to ensure each and every member of our team returns home to their families in the same condition which they arrived to work at the start of the day.
Asbestos Management & Removal Team LTD take their position within the construction industry and occupational Health and Safety seriously. To honour this commitment we have chosen to meet all Health and Safety legislation including the Health & Safety at Work Act 2015 and the Health & Safety at Work (Asbestos) Regulations 2016
